About RoboSquid
Motto
"make something awesome."
About
RoboSquid is a community focused on making games: a game development community. Since game design is a wide playing field incorporating a numerous arts and a variety of artists, we also make room for artists in general, regardless of whether they're interested in game design.
RoboSquid defines an artist as anyone who loves to craft their own content, someone who enjoys making something awesome as much as they enjoy appreciating neat things made by others. Since RoboSquid is intent on facilitating an atmosphere conducive to creativity, we try and keep things loose and upbeat here. We love having easygoing folks, chill people who do their stuff and inspire others to do better. We want people working on projects that gets other people to thinking, "hey, I wanna do something like that!"
Our belief is that anything that could potentially be used in a game ought to have a place in our archive. That effectively means game storylines and plots, engine mods, concept art, or random sound effects you made three years ago at 4 AM. It's really open-ended. The only catch is that RoboSquid aims to showcase quality projects, but your best effort should always be fine!
Since we're big on fostering the collaborative spirit, we allow people to create their own private "project forums" for discussion with project mates. For people who aren't quite into the creative groove, we've also got a nifty offering of friendly competitive activites through our Battle Arena and Quick Missions. They're a great way to have fun improving your own skills while also meeting up with possible collaborators. Believe it or not, RoboSquid is actually an excellent place to meet up with like-minded people and make some very cool friends. Just keep an open mind, and use a few smileys. ;)
So why not? Take a few minutes, join up, and remember: make something awesome!
